Erich S. Buck
Erich Buck is a partner and shareholder, where he represents corporate and individual debtors, creditors and other parties in all aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy, including workouts, assignments for the benefit of creditors, asset sales and purchases, liquidations, reorganizations and bankruptcy litigation. Erich has represented clients in a wide array of industries, most recently including insurance, information technology, retail and manufacturing.
After years of recognition as an Illinois Super Lawyers “Rising Star” and a Leading Lawyers “Emerging Lawyer,” Erich has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by the Illinois Super Lawyers publication since 2020 and a “Leading Lawyer” in the Leading Lawyers publication since 2018. In 2024, Erich was also ranked by Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Top 100” attorney in the State of Illinois.
Erich has co-authored articles published in the Journal for Corporate Renewal and the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. He has presented on commercial bankruptcy topics at CLE programs sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association. Erich is a past member and co-chair of the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois. He also served as Chair of the Bankruptcy & Reorganization Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. Currently Erich is a member of the Trusted Advisors Council, the Turnaround Management Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.
Prior to joining Adelman & Gettleman, Erich was an associate at Reed Smith LLP (formerly Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd.), where his practice focused primarily on creditors' rights litigation. Erich also served two years as law clerk to the Honorable Carol A. Doyle of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Erich enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their young daughter and son. A self-described “news junkie,” Erich also enjoys reading about local and national news during his daily commutes to and from the office.
