Erich Buck is a partner and shareholder, where he represents corporate and individual debtors, creditors and other parties in all aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy, including workouts, assignments for the benefit of creditors, asset sales and purchases, liquidations, reorganizations and bankruptcy litigation. Erich has represented clients in a wide array of industries, most recently including insurance, information technology, retail and manufacturing.
After years of recognition as an Illinois Super Lawyers “Rising Star” and a Leading Lawyers "Emerging Lawyer," Erich most recently was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by the Illinois Super Lawyers publication and named a "Leading Lawyer" in the Leading Lawyers publication. He has co-authored articles published in the Journal for Corporate Renewal and the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. Erich has presented on commercial bankruptcy topics at CLE programs sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association and the Small Business Advocacy Council. Erich is a past member and co-chair of the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois. Currently he is a member of the Small Business Advocacy Council, the Trusted Advisors Council, the Turnaround Management Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Erich also serves as Chair of the Bankruptcy & Reorganization Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.
Prior to joining Adelman & Gettleman, Erich was an associate at Reed Smith LLP (formerly Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd.), where his practice focused primarily on creditors' rights litigation. Erich also served two years as law clerk to the Honorable Carol A. Doyle of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Erich enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their young daughter and son. A self-described “news junkie,” Erich also enjoys reading about local and national news during his daily commutes to and from the office.
