Mr. Berk first joined the firm in the summer of 2013 as a messenger. He also worked as a law clerk during the summers of 2016 and 2018 before becoming a full-time associate in October of 2018. Mr. Berk focuses his areas of practice in lending, bankruptcy, reorganization, and commercial litigation. Mr. Berk graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015 and cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2018. During law school, Mr. Berk focused his studies on bankruptcy and commercial law and received Book Awards for receiving the highest grades in his Bankruptcy, Secured Transactions, and Professional Responsibility for Business Lawyers courses. He served as a student attorney and student director in the University of Minnesota Law School's consumer bankruptcy clinic where he prepared chapter 7 petitions and schedules for indigent debtors and represented them in related proceedings, particularly student loan discharge adversary proceedings. For his work in the clinic, Mr. Berk received the 2017-2018 Kent Wennerstrom Award, which is awarded annually to the clinic student director that makes the most outstanding contribution among the law school's 24 clinics. Mr. Berk was also nominated for the American College of Bankruptcy's Distinguished Student Award in 2018. Additionally, Mr. Berk served as a managing editor on volume 36 of the Journal of Law and Inequality.

When he is not in the office, Mr. Berk enjoys cooking and baking as hobbies. He also enjoys running, cycling, and basketball for exercise and pleasure. Mr. Berk is an avid NBA and NFL fan.
